Those turkeys were late for Thanksgiving dinner...or I guess maybe early for Christmas dinner?!

We have huge herds (?) of them in the farm fields around us. I've been eyeing them wishing I had the stomach for hunting so I could put a field fresh turkey on our holiday table. But I'm a big baby...even if I could shoot it after cleaning it...I don't think I could eat it.

My grandma once taught me how to make fried chicken from a whole bird. My grandma made legendary fried chicken. Once I had cut all those bones and ligament and veins...I was so grossed out I could hardly eat it...I never did it again. And to think she used to not only do everything she showed me...but she actually used to take them right from the yard to the table. Wringing their necks and the whole nine yards!

Props to your hunter man!!

All I could think is "what WONDERFUL feathers!"

fresh is best, I must say!

Although, I dont think I have ever PLUCKED all the feathers from a bird. Is that difficult or just time consuming?!

I can fish and fillet my fishies.. that's as far as I have got with "hunting".. :) still, Im proud though. :)
